25 Most Tweetable Albert Einstein Quotes

“Einstein was cool.” Those were the words coming from my nine-year old during a recent trip to the bookstore. And you know what? She’s right. The more I learn about Einstein, the bigger fan I become. He has become a sort of hero to me.

Albert Einstein was the most influential physicist of the 1900s. His work has changed the world so dramatically and continues to act as the basis for advances in the sciences.

But Einstein was more than a big brain. He was a brand. Think about it. How many scientists can you name? How many of those can you pick out of a line up? My guess is not many. Maybe Isaac Newton. But I’m sure if someone showed you a photo of Einstein you would know immediately who that was.

Albert Einstein was awarded the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1921. Being Jewish, the Nazis felt threatened by Einstein, who proved through his genius that there was no such thing as a superior race. The Nazis went as far as targeting Einstein for assassination. In 1933, Einstein moved to the United States and accepted a position at Princeton University. In the U.S. Einstein played a key role in the fight to curtail the use of the atom bomb. He also invested his energy in fighting racism and nationalism.

Einstein was named the Person of the Century by TIME in 1999. He has become one of those figures who has done more posthumously than when he was alive. He often quoted the importance of curiosity and creativity and was a strong believer in coming to your own conclusions in everything you do. He never took himself too seriously and is remembered for being genius but playful. Perhaps that is why my nine-year old thinks he was so cool.

Below are 25 of my favorite Einstein quotes in tweet form. Some are inspiring. Some are motivational. Some are just Einstein being Einstein. Regardless, I’m sure you’ll enjoy them.
